It’s not surprising that something I cook turns out looking like this. In my defense this batch was the last bit of batter left in the bowl which is why they are so misshapen, but I have no excuse for the evil smilies. The rest of my pancakes did look nice and rounded, but the smilies were all evil. Every one of them. I got no complaints on the taste at least!

No complicated recipe involved. To make the chocolate pancake batter all I did was separated some batter and threw in some hot chocolate mix, which I seem to have a lot of. I got the idea to do this right on the box of mix I used, and like that it’s something even the kids can help with. Easy peasy and the kids loved it but next time I will add more chocolate since it barely had a hint of extra flavor with the amount I used.
I posted this picture to share with my family when I first took it and got a few comments calling them creepy, weird, interesting, and that they just might be crying. Another friend told me I used too much liquid. Whatever the reason, my cooking looks more than a little messed up pretty often. It always always tastes good!
Maybe I’m just artistically challenged when it comes to food. Yea, lets go with that.
So, what think of my crazy pancakes? Would you eat them?
Does your cooking ever look like this?
